The dried sticks from the hydrangeas got covered , but I’ll put them back in later. I saved spots for the dried flowers. I put in shadows and saved a space for the fawns. At this step all the colors and values need to be corrected. Even if you have 1000 pastels, you won’t have the color you need. So you pick colors that are closest to what you want and build up glazes. I scrubbed the pigment into the paper before I took the picture. This helps when you build up layers so the tooth of the paper doesn’t fill in too fast. I’ll probably lift the brown back out of the fawns before I finish them. With pastels you can use painting techniques. Tune back in next week for the next step.
