Trace of a Fictional Third by Diana Al-Hadid

at least it won't be in the gallery permanently

There are 2 figures on the sculpture. The artist calls the viewer the “fictional third”. Tha figures don’t have heads ot hands. I guess that solves the problem for the modern artist. Heads and hands are difficult, so just don’t do them. And people wonder why funding for art is cut in public schools. Would you rather have your kids out burning energy playing sports, or would you rather have them out in the back yard making huge junk sculptures ? This is the kind of pseudointellectual modern art that alienates the general public from art. See it for yourself at the VMFA and if you like it, please tell me why.
